Toddler Girl Haircuts

1. Pixie Haircut

Pixie haircut for toddler girl is ideal when she has straight hair that drops down a lot. In this style, the hair is cut short at the back and the sides but are left a bit long on the top. This makes it easy to comb and quite manageable too.

How to:

  1. Shampoo and then pat the hair with a towel till they are just damp.
  2. Straighten the hair with a comb so that they are easier to cut.
  3. Start cutting from the back with small cuts from the bottom. Once you reach the nape, be slower with the cuts. Keep cutting until the hair leaves a fringe on the neck.
  4. Style the hair on the nape accordingly. Leave a point of hair at the middle of the nape for styling purpose. Cut the same way on the sides. Leave fringes of hair on the ears so that they cover a third of it. The side locks can be cut according to your preference.
  5. Once done with the back and sides, comb the hair at the front towards one side – with a side parting. Trim the fringes of the front hair till they look uniform.

Face type: Long, oval
Hair type: Straight or wavy hair

2. Long Tapering

It can be the haircut of choice for a toddler girl with straight or wavy hair. This toddler girl haircut is super easy to do at home with bare minimum tools.

How to:

  1. Wash hair and dry them till they are just damp. If you do not want to wash the hair, you can also use a water spray. Comb hair after that.
  2. Slowly cut vertically from the outer edge to the inside of the straightened hair. Repeat the same for the other side. The idea here is to give a V shape to the lower end of tresses.
  3. Comb and straighten the hair after each cut, so you know you are getting a good V look.

Face type: All face types – long, oval, round, heart-shaped
Hair type: Straight hair

3. Forehead Bangs

Forehead bangs work great for toddler girls with thin hair. You can have forehead bangs with bob cut or with long hair.

How to:

  1. Shampoo the hair and dry it thoroughly with a towel.
  2. Run the hair forward about two to three inches from the hairline. Comb hair across the entire length of the forehead so that they cover it completely.
  3. Tie the remaining hair to prevent cutting them accidentally.
  4. Decide a length for the bangs. Sharp bangs can lie about half an inch above eyebrows whereas blunt ones just touch the eyebrows.
  5. Trim the hair horizontally straight as per decided length. Once done, comb the hair forward, and forehead bangs are ready.

Face type: Oval, round
Hair type: Straight, thin hair

4. Parted Side Bangs

Quite similar to forehead bangs, but these look best when the girl has thin straight hair that you prefer parting from the side.

How to:

  1. Follow the same steps as forehead bangs. When cutting the combed forehead hair, do not cut in a horizontal straight line. Instead, trim the hair at a slant angle.
  2. The bangs are longest to the opposite side of the parting. So if you part the toddler’s hair from left to right, then the bangs will be the longest on the right side, gradually decreasing in size as hair run to the left.

Face type: Round, heart-shaped
Hair type: Straight, thin or slightly wavy hair

5. Classic Bob Cut

Classic bob cut is perhaps among the most popular haircuts for toddler girls. It suits straight hair and narrow face the most.

How to:

  1. Divide the dry hair into three sections, one at the back and two on the sides.
  2. Partition the hair into three sections with a comb. Begin by cutting the hair from the back. Keep cutting till you reach the top of the nape. You can also use a trimmer. Once the hair is shortened, the back section is done.
  3. Start cutting the side section by cutting from bottom to top. You have to leave the hair long in the front, so do not cut them. It gives out two neat hair fringes that run on either side of the face.

Face type: Oval, round, narrow, heart-shaped
Hair type: Straight, thin hair
